Can I plant lavender in tropical climate of Singapore? Is there any type of lavender that can survive such severe heat?

Since Lavender really likes a more dry climate it CAN be done, but you'll have to make sure the plant is grown in sandy soil, and has adequate drainage. Water infrequently.
Here is a news story that would indicate to me that you CAN grow lavender in Singapore...go to: http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/s...
And Happy Gardening!
