How and when do I multiply French lavender? When can they be planted outside?

Lavandula dentata - French lavender

Best way to propagate is from cuttings.

Make the cuttings, remove most of the leaves, but not all.

Place the cutting in a pot, you can add a bit of growth hormone, water and cover with a plastic bottle, the bottom cut off.

When the root system has developed remove the bottle, up to this point the cuttings need a lot of light but not full sun all day, once the root system has developed move them to full sun.

I have found if the new plants are planted right at the beginning of spring (summer rainfall %26amp; very hot) they do better, but this will depend on your rainfall.

Lavender needs very good drainage at the roots and loads of direct sun for better flowering.

Don't plant them too close to each other about 1m apart, in 6 - 12 months they will have filled the space.

To ensure better flowering, remove the dead flowers.

Good luck
