Is it okay to wash your Shih Tzu in Suave's Natural soothing Lavender Lila shampoo and conditioner?

I just bought a One year old Shih Tzu male. he is so cute. he doen't have that long of a coat it's on the line of a puppy cut and a showring cut. later on i plan on growing it out so that i can do his hair. but for now i put on a doggy hat. But anyway i have this suave lavender shampoo and i was wondering if i could use it for my shih tzu. I read the back label and it didn't say what PH level it was because i know that you can't use anything over a PH level of 7 on you or your dog. So if you could help me out that wold be Absolutly Great!!!!! ♥God Bless♥

If it's not for dogs, I recommend not using it. Go to a pet store and buy a dog shampoo and conditioner. The way I look at it, you wouldn't use a dog shampoo on your hair.
Reply:I have my two shih tzus professionally groomed (so they don't hate me for giving them baths and brushing out mats!) but in an emergency, I use baby shampoo and any kind of conditioner I have on hand. The one shih tzu is 17. Doesn't seem to have harmed her any!
Reply:dog shampoo is recommended, Most human shampoosare toostrong and abrassive for the dogs skin. Iy could cause a reaction and dry out his skinor cause a rash. If you sre going to wash your dog stick with johnson and johnson baby shampoo...
Reply:Don't be a cheap skate, buy dog formulated shampoo.
Reply:i dont know about that shampoo but i have used vo5 on my dashound..and he has sensative skin and it was ok.
Reply:Yes its OK. I usually use baby shampoo on my dogs, but if there isn't any around I use any human shampoo thats there.
Reply:Dogs should use shampoo for dogs. They have a different ph balance than human shampoo. Get them at Petco, Petsmart or your local pet store.
Reply:I wouldn't risk it...you could irritate your dogs skin. They have some really nice Shampoos made for dogs!
Reply:You can use the shampoo. On human hair, you need a neutraul pH, not an acidic or an alkaline as it will damage your hair. You can use it, but I reccommend that you should get dog shampoo. If you cant get it today or soon, you can use it, but don't use it as a main shampoo.
Reply:Would probably be better to just spend that extra couple of bucks and get your dog an actual dog shampoo and conditioner.
Reply:It depends on how much he licks his fur. They say that it isn't great to do that, but I have washed my dogs with Pantene and nothing has ever happened. My mom did this for years. I WOULD never want to hurt you puppy so I am not sure what to do in this situation. I would go ahead and do it or go to the petstor, you can get some doggy shampoo for like 7 bucks! =)
