What do you do with Lavender?

I have lavender in my yard in a basket, growing and I have no idea what to do with it. But isn't that where you put dried lavender in a little bag or something to smell good? How do you make dried lavender?

You can braid it before you dry it. It looks pretty. Maybe put the dried, braided lavender on top of a grape vine wreath?
Reply:I cut it and dry it the way other folks here describe. Then I cut a piece of cheesecloth and tie some of the lavender up in it and stick it in the vent of my car. The car smells SO good, and I like to think that it's keeping me calm on the commute to and from work!
Reply:Cut the lavender, spread it out in the sun, and wait 'til it dries out, then you can bag it.
Reply:pick it, and bind the stems together and hang upside down, preferably in a window, leave it their for about 2 weeks or at least until it is dry then you can do the bag thing, good luck!
Reply:The first link below instructs you on how to havest and in using Lavender. Lavender helps you to relax. I use a drop of lavender oil by putting it under my nose to calm me down if I'm upset.

Reply:If you have trouble sleeping, keep some dried lavender in a bag under your pillow. Also, I would suggest actually planting it, rather than keeping it growing in a basket.
