I just bought a lavender plant?
Put it outside in an area that gets at least six hours of sun per day. Do not overwater. When the lavender blooms, pick at least half of it, tie it in bundles and place upright in two inches of water. It will dry like that, and then you just take the scissors and snip off the part that was in water. Tie a pretty ribon around it and you are good to go. Lay it on your bedside table or put it in a vase. Lavender is soothing and helps you get to sleep.
Reply:Outside, they need sun....six hours direct sun...or more. You can keep it in a pot but realize outside it will dry out faster.......so test the soil often.
Reply:Lavendar plant grow best outside. snip the flowers of and put then between the pillow and pillow case, it helps you sleep better, dry flowers and and put them in cloth bags as a sachet for drawers and closets, add them to fower arrangement. There are many lavendar varieties, English lavendar is the most popular.
Reply:Lavender grows best outside in full sun. It is a perennial which means it grows fuller each year's blooming season, which is now for my lavender. Be careful about where you plant it to make sure it has lots of room next season.

You can dry lavender blooms for potpourri, tea, etc.. It is a very fragrant flower. Good Luck.
Reply:Lavender grows best outside. It spreads nicely and puts off a nice smell. You can even dry some to use in dresser drawers.
Reply:yes, they need to be kept outside
