Can you grow lavender on Oahu?

I live on Oahu on the Windward (aka rainy) side of the island.. I would love to start growing some lavender, but I don't know if it is possible-- anyone know?

Can you grow lavender on Oahu?
Lavender loves the moist climate, but it does not fair well with pounding rains. If you can give it a sheltered place to grow, like under the canopy of a large tree, throw those seeds down...it will flourish!
Reply:I think you can raise anything except potatoes and apples in Hawaii and you can do that probably in the higher elevations of the Big Island.
Reply:It grows here in western Washington on the Olympic Peninsula not far from the rain forests, so I suspect you can grow it there. With your comparative warmth, you may simply have to keep it cut back so that it doesn't run amok! :-)
Reply:protect it from excess rain.

plant it in alkaline soil.

semi sunny position.

protect from western sun.

keep it trimmed so it will stay bushy.
